1.3.1.1 tutorial bug

Just purchased game, installed, crashed at tutorial eon 2 after 'the villagers are building something' pops up. Checked all drivers, direct x ect...
Continued to get crash and same error report. Looked around online and seems error may be linked to the 1.3.1.1 patch.
cannot do anything else in game due to 'play' button not an option until all three tutorials are completed, which is impossible due to crash.
10/10 crashes even after all system checks complete.
