Re: Desert Lime next to a village

Ow I don't know what to do anymore ._. Should I keep the dead patches and add bonusses to them, or should I remove them? HALP! Definitely get rid of them. Even if you threw in a large enough flat bonus to make those tiles empirically valuable, it would still be less interesting than simply giving t...

Re: Are Crystal and Exotic aspects ever justifiable picks?

Coal looks pretty nice, but the opportunity cost is enormous. Zero growth upgrades, zero herd upgrades, and your choice of universally worthless domestic animals and no Monsoon. All for a total of two sources (coal and platinum). A non-crystal build gives you maxed domestic animals, maxed monsoon, a...

Re: Are Crystal and Exotic aspects ever justifiable picks?

Hm. I've tried Anglerfish a couple of times and found them fairly unimpressive. Maybe I was using them wrong. Even so, is it really necessary that Anglerfish alone require you to gut the output of at least half of the mining tree across the entire planet? Being asked to give up Seismic Aspect for An...

Are Crystal and Exotic aspects ever justifiable picks?

In playing through a whole bunch of eras, I've been gradually trying to come up with a strategy for optimizing my Ambassador picks. Initially I based the decision primarily on which aspects seemed the most useful to have, trying out different upgrade paths each game. But now I'm starting to realize ...

Re: Opinion time! New transmutation tooltip

I'm strongly in favor of this. Even after a dozen or so games I often forget which resource does what, or am trying out a new source path for the first time, and have no idea what will happen when I upgrade a resource. Half of the time my total output goes down, and I need to replace the resource fr...

Re: Game crashes whenever the Ocean Giant casts Monsoon

Well this is odd. It actually just stopped happening. I switched from my nVidia graphics card to integrated graphics to see if that would prevent the crash, which it did (although it murdered the framerate, obviously). Then I switched it back and I couldn't get it to crash again, even after seeing i...

Game crashes whenever the Ocean Giant casts Monsoon

Every time the Ocean Giant tries to cast Monsoon, he starts the casting animation (what with his eyes rolling back and everything), but the instant the animation hits the frame where the actual effect presumably starts, the game crashes. I've seen it happen in both 30 and 60 minute eras on at least ...
