Umm, yeah, well. I've been busy with a lot of more important things (gf broke up with me, I had to move and still no internet at the new place).

But I might get back into demystifying Reus later. Anything in particular you want to find out more about?

Congratulations to the devs, it must be a really great feeling to have your little project show up as the #2 (grr, Dishonored, grumble) best seller on Steam!

Re: A Wild City Growth Mod appears!

The "user-experience" I'm aiming for is close to editing some XML files, with a File/Open menu that limits the files you can open and no syntax highlighting, so when XNA is gone it will actually become even easier. I put in some more work today, and I've got a very, very rough prototype. So I'm look...

A Wild City Growth Mod appears!

Thanks to Feneris' recent question about modding, I've decided to look into that a bit, and I've accidentally made the first mod :-) It boosts border growth by a factor of ten, so that you can easily get a completely full world with 3 villages within 40 minutes as you can hopefully see in this scree...

Re: Project Summary Bug Report

Fixed in the next patch. Thanks for noticing Mahasuchi. I think it was purely visual and the challenge would still finish with 3 mountain patches, but with the fix the UI will be updated correctly as well. @yatima, it wasn't that, as the order add/remove,remove/add does not matter in this case. The...

Re: Modding

I was merely curious if anyone has done, or has thought of doing, any mods for Reus? I'm thinking about making a program to edit the xnb files which contain most of the game settings (except the world size, that's hardcoded unfortunately). That doesn't require altering the code/dlls (which the devs...

Re: Danger

I've figured it out by looking at the code. Let F, W, and T be the food, wealth, and technology in use. I'm going to introduce an intermediary variable called S (after the codename StatStrength, which is used in game). S = 0.75 * (maximum of F, W and T) + 0.25 * (average of F, W and T). So if F, W a...

Re: Game mechanics: growth of Food/Wealth/Tech use

And now we know that if anyone ever claims to have scored over 108k prosperity in one village in a 2-hour game, they're lying. Then again, we probably knew that anyways... If you have all three resources growing at the maximum speed of 1 unit per second, you can get to 3 * 121 * 60 = 21780 within 2...
