Re: Border growth: the real story (part 1)
Thanks for the detailed explanation. The bonus starts at 1, is decreased by 0.3 if the tile has the same type as the village, and furthermore by 0.1 if the new tile has a plant or animal on it without any danger. Only stuff planted by the giants count, by the way. Do I understand correctly, that: Y...

Border growth: the real story (part 1)
I've mostly figured out how border growth works, at least in the absence of danger. TL;DR: it's cheaper to expand to tiles which are close to the center of the village, of the same type as the village, without danger, not on a mountain and with a danger-less animal or plant resource on them. The las...

Re: Some of the game parameters
Any chance you've run into anything indicating what Growth.DangerAssetToExpansionGrowth = -0.15 impacts? I'm not entirely sure, but I think this falls under the category of 'old junk'. At least I can't find any references to it in any of the DLLs... I'll check again later when I've got some more ti...

Re: Some of the game parameters
Ow man hahaha there is SO much junk in it! EvaporationBase...good old rain model (that didn't work for jack). Thanks for the hint! But AmongstTheGiants.blabla.dll? That's an extra eurocent you're charging the people who do not have unlimited broadband :=) Is there anything else I can just forget ab...

Some of the game parameters
I've been looking into the inner workings of Reus (as some of you here have as well, no doubt!) and while I got quite far by just decompiling the game DLLs, it turned out that some of the settings are saved in xnb files. The internet has only stuff for showing images in xnb files, so I wrote a progr...

Re: Borders
Reus doesn't seem to decompile properly, though, with code like this appearing: public string ᭇ哈䘂墅ގ(string 쒮幢杘觨䱕깮둴胂) Not sure if it's because I'm using an outdated tool or because Reus just does some weird stuff internally. Try using the De4Dot extension to Telerik's JustDecompile (it has a 'Cle...

Re: Which Achievement Unlocks Which Source?
I finished the last open unlocks on the wiki, but I cheated a bit and looked at the decompiled code, so I haven't actually playtested it (except Modern Agriculture unlocks Bear, which I got on my last playthrough).
I should also go through the unlocks already filled in, in case there's any mistakes.

Re: Opinion Time! Freeplay
Also, PLEASE, give more feedback to people on how to unlock something (sources), took me several plays to unlock "Pear Trees" (VITAL RESOURCE for food before orange kicks in) and I had no idea how to unlock it. If it didn't unlock soon it would severely hamper my will to play - not knowing what I s...

Something like http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198041729200/screenshot/542960665431427193 this funny screenshot can happen afterward: the fish were chasing an army that had passed through their patch, and when the army died, the fish went home again. I've also seen normal people walking acro...

Random starting aspects
Currently, you start with Leaf and Growth aspects at level 1. Would it be interesting to (have an option to) randomize these initial aspects? That would make you reconsider your plans right from the beginning. Not having any natura boosting aspects would suck, but I think you can get enough ambassad...
