By any chance do you still have the Galaxy version lying around? There are a lot of people with the same issue due to a bug in the Galaxy client. If you still have it installed could you post the abbeycore.txt in the game folder? That will help us solve the problem.

I think the problem really only happens in the tutorials. You can skip them by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F3 in the unlock screen in the main menu.
