Together with Touriste, I present you our (first) community competition:
GERMANY vs. FRANCE
So, since Maarten is going to release the text for the translation soon, we thought it would be fun to organize a little competition which is rather simple:
The first nation, which finishes with the translation first, wins!
BUT: Since the quality of the translation must remain top quality and I say again: top quality, we will have one or two referees capable of speaking the correspondent language at a high level. If a referee finds more than 5 mistakes in the translation of a team, they automatically lose even if they finished first!
Things that do count as a mistake:
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Conjugation
- Accents (French only)
- Capital letters (more or less German only)
- Word order
- Tense
- Completely wrong translation
- whatever obvious mistake I'm missing right now
- slightly off translation
- not perfectly expressed
Please, if some is able to speak English, German and French fluently and has the time and will to check 2 (!) whole translations, contact me :D
If we do not find anyone soon, we would be happy if we had one German and one French native speaker, who solemny swear that they will remain neutral and not overlook mistakes on purpose. Please contact me if you are interested!
So, on to the prices: (Yes, there's something to win namely the humiliation of the opponent!)
If the German translation team wins, the enlisted French translators have to write publicly here in the Reus forum (maybe in an own sub-forum :D):
Additionally, every enlisted German translator shall be entitled with "Sir" by the enlisted French translators when they use the Nickname of the German translators until the 3rd of July.I, (Nick), member of the French translation team, admit full defeat in the translation competition and bow to the at all time superior German translation team. We feel unworthy in their presence and from this day onwards we shall always remember the (date of defeat) as the day we were linguistically crushed.

And in case of a French victory, the enlisted German translators will be forced to write:

Note: Of course you can help with the translation without enlisting, but this is just additional fun! (namely to see Touriste humiliated pubicly along with his fellow country-men muhahaha!)
