Challenge #136: Past and Future
Concept: Welsh Dragon
Story: Pikminenco
Showrunner: Flamestalker
Contributions from: Pistax, Liort, Noctua Spell

Story:
The door of the society's lab flew open. Emilia, with a large box in her hands, had kicked it open.
The only other people in the lab at the time were Phillipe, who was working on a new contraption, and Charles who was discussing expedition plans.
''I,ve made one of the biggest archaeological findings in history!'' Emilia proclaimed. Phillipe turned away from his contraption and looked at her.
''Cardboard boxes have existed for quite some time now.'' he said.
It's not about the box, its about the contents of the box.'' she said and put it next to Phillipe on the table. Phillipe put his tools to the side and turned towards the box. Charles also had his attention fixated on the box.
''Are you ready! Tada!'' she lifted the box and revealed two small rocks.
Phillipe and Charles looked closer to see what it was actually about.
''I,m know nothing about archaeology but I,m fairly certain rocks have also existed for a long time.'' Charles said while touching the rock to find out what was so special about it.
''These so called 'rocks' are actually droppings of a very old mammal that no longer exists!'' Emilia said proudly. Charles quickly dragged his hand away from the droppings and instantly threw his glove in the garbage bin in the lab.
''Is that all there is to it?'' Phillipe asked.
''All there is to it? You clearly have no idea how important these findings can be!'' Emilia said angrily.
''Those are yesterdays findings, not focussed on our future. If you truly want to help humanity you should stop looking at the past and change your focus.'' Phillipe said.
''And I suppose that you are working on that?'' Emilia asked
''Funny you mention it.'' Phillipe said while stepping to the side to reveal his project. It is a small automated robot with two arms with claws on the end. This time Emilia looked closer to inspect it.
''Sure looks adorable, but what does it do?'' she asked.
Phillipe flipped the switch on its back. ''Watch and learn!'' he said.
The robot slowly walked towards a piece of silverware at the other side of the table. After missing a few times it manages to grab it, turn around and even more slowly walk towards its original position before falling over. Phillipe seemed incredibly excited, while Emilia was disappointed.
''That is the best the future has to offer?'' she asked. Phillipe's excitement turned into anger.
''What!? Don't you realise that this can change the way we live forever!'' he yelled.
''No it wont, that's completely ridiculous! Isn't that right Charles?'' Emilia said.
''Well to be honest I think both your 'findings' are a bit mediocre.'' Charles stated with a bored look on his face. Phillipe and Emilia both walked away in rage, planning something to prove their point.
''This could get really ugly, I better keep an eye on them.''
